Hi,
I came across the concept of "Qualify Risk" in one of the questions in Rita's book. But I did not find this concept mentioned anywhere else. Could you please shed some light on this concept if its applicable to PMP exam.
Thanks,

This is from Izenbridge test

Question 17
1.00/0.00
You are a project manager and working with procurements for your projects. You are meeting seller to identify the performance of seller concerning SOW and also to see how work is getting performed. You are looking at quality audit documents created during execution of work by seller’s quality department. What are you trying to do in this scenario?

Manage change control system for project

Procurement performance review

Inspection and Audit

Performance reporting

As per answer - Option B Procurement Performance Review

but in PMBOK page 498 the procurement review does not include review of quality audit (it includes analyze quality?) .

As I understand the PM is carrying out Inspection and Audit.

If you can please confirm.

Thanks
Its a good question since the answer here may confuse you more, I will take this in clarification session o 31st October

Q : A German stakeholder joins the team in a multi-phase project. Sponsor has already informed the project manager that he is important for the project. After meeting with him, the project manager realizes that the new stakeholder should be involved in all status meetings and receive confidential information in association to the project. The project manager adds him in the stakeholder register.

What should he do next?

A- Update Communication management Plan
B- Update Stakeholder Engagement matrix
C-Update Stakeholder engagement plan
D-Update issue log

To my previous query on how to distinguish b/w Stakeholder and Communication you responded - (Stakeholder engagement plan is about why we want to engage with a given stakeholder and what will we communicate to stakeholder. whereas plan communication is how will we communicate).

However, I'm still struggling in approaching this question.

Hi Manish,

Few points for discussion:

1) Can we presume that there is no need for CR as the request is coming from Sponsor ?

2) As the SH is going to receive confidential information so as per the question PM should first enter it in the Issue log and then the both the Stakeholder and communication management plan should be updated to cover the specifics of the the information and how we communicate with him?

Thanks

Question by Ravi Kashyap

Q 1
A project manager has resigned from her position right after the execution processes of the project she managed have been completed. You have been asked to close the project. You want to find final acceptance criteria for the project as well as project closure guidelines that establish the protocols for the transfer of ownership and knowledge. Where would you find this information?

Organizational Process Assets (OPAs)
Enterprise environmental factors (EEFs)
Project closure register (PCR)
The project charter

I marked the answer as D as the question but the answer was A with the explanation –

Project closure guidelines can be stipulated in company organizational process assets (OPAs). OPAs include any artifact, practice or knowledge from any or all of the performing Org project that can be used to execute or govern the project

Question 2 by Ravi Kashyap

Q2
You are facilitating a meeting with key stakeholders to discuss a new project to build a hydroelectric dam. One of the stakeholders is concerned about how the project fits in with the company's overall organizational strategy. How should you direct the stakeholder to find information on how well the project objectives align with the business strategies of the organization?

Ask the project sponsor
Review the project charter
Check the project business case
Look in the benefits management plan

I marked the answer as C (project Business case sets the basis for the project charter) but the answer is D

The project benefits management plan is the document that describes how and when the benefits of the project will be delivered and describes the mechanisms that should be in place to measure those benefits

Thanks

Q - You are the Project Manager and are responsible for the development of a mall. As with any construction project, there will be multiple iterations of blueprints and engineering drawings. Therefore, you have decided to create an online database that can be used to query the documents by name, type, date, etc. This is an example of what type of communication tool?
A• Project Management Information System
B• Lessons Learned
C• Configuration Management System
D• Project Records

Answer is A but I marked it as C as the config management system keeps track of all the configurable items and the their updates and latest versions.?

Need help to understand the main difference between PMIS vs Config Management System
Thanks

As such, the governance framework provides the project manager and the team with structure, processes, decision-making models and tools for managing the project. What is the PMO's role in project governance?
  • The PMO has no role in project governance
The PMO may have some role in project governance
The PMO may play a decisive role in project governance
The PMO plays a distinct leadership role in project governance

Answer is 3rd but not able to understand it properly

The project team is using an agile methodology for the first time with the new project. What is a key difference in how the project scope will be managed?
• Predictive life cycle projects are designed to adapt to rapid changes.
• Collect Requirements, Define Scope, and Create WBS processes are done one time in an agile project.
• Validate Scope occurs with each deliverable.
• The new project will now use backlogs rather than a baseline to reflect current needs.
Why Option D?

After the project charter is approved, a kick-off meeting is held. Six months into a project, the project team welcomes in new members and sets up another kick-off meeting. Three months later, a third kick-off meeting is held. One of the new team members asks why they are having a kick-off meeting after the project has been underway. What is the most-likely reason for a third kick-off meeting?
• Each time new team members are brought on a kick-off meeting is held.
• Kick-off meetings can be held at any convenient point in the project.
• The project is now entering a new phase.
• The project-sponsoring organization wants to welcome a new customer to the project team.
