Fri Mar 01, 2019 6:43 am

The video starts with the question :

Stakeholders are not in agreement on common strategy and approach for implementing the project while the client is insisting on getting started with the project immediately, what should you do?

A. Get started with the project since the client is asking
B. Inform the client that the project can not begin till the project charter gets approved.
C. Discuss with the Sponsor on the possibility of starting the work
D. Facilitate the meeting to bring an alignment among the stakeholders

Let us explore all the options

A. Get started with the project since the client is asking
The Project Charter is approved by the Project Sponsor, not by the external client.

B. Inform the client that the project can not begin till the project charter gets approved.
The Project Manager is expected to keep things transparent with the client, informing this to the client is a good idea.

C. Discuss with the Sponsor on the possibility of starting the work
You can discuss with the sponsor about the issue in hand but suggesting to start the project without the approved project charter is not a good idea.

D. Facilitate the meeting to bring an alignment among the stakeholders
The Project Manager is expected to facilitate sessions to reach an agreement on the project charter.
