Risk audit in Agile

Thu Aug 27, 2015 9:28 am

Q: When is a risk audit typically performed on an agile project?
A. During the retrospective.
B. After a release.
C. After an iteration during an iteration review meeting.
D. After release planning.

I chose Option A, as per the Scodo it is
Option C - A risk audit is typically performed in the iteration review after each iteration. [The Art of Agile Development. James Shore.] [Risk management]
As per the Saket's video on Risk he explicitly mentions that risk audit is done during retrospective. CONFUSED. I am not against of option C but .....

Oh Thanks Manish. I am now worried about the genuineness of Scordo on ACP test questions.

Agreed. Saket - From a ceremony perspective, retrospective is all about the team, SM, and PO (being optional). Can we fairly assume that risk audit is done by the scrum team alone with no external stakeholders in the picture? Practically, a client side sponsor might be interested in knowing how we are dealing with managing a risk, ain't it? So, there could be multiple arenas as well. From a internal team risk audit perspective, the correct answer goes a long way to - SPRINT RETROSPECTIVES.

[The Art of Agile Development. James Shore.] [Risk management] is no more considered as reference book for PMI-ACP exam, all risk management related content for PMI-ACP is coming from Project Manager Bridge to Agility. So risk audit is expected to happen in Retrospective meeting. You can do risk review in any meeting, including the sprint review meeting. Audit is to see how well the risk management process is working, and that can only be seen in retrospective meeting.
