What to do with non completed user stories.

Wed Sep 02, 2015 9:41 am

Question: Harry's agile team failed to complete a user story in its most recent iteration. What should Harry and his team do?
A. Finish the user story over the weekend or other downtime.
B. Collaborate with the customer to determine if and when the user story should be completed.
C. Remove the user story from the project.
D. Immediately add the user story to the top of the next iteration's backlog.

In my Opinion the answer should be D, but Scordo suggest Option B. Is my thinking okay?

Pankaj

Hi Pankaj,

Each iteration backlog is mutually discussed and decided by PO, team and SM.
Its PO who present Sprint goal and stories are picked for sprint based on the goal. so team cannot by default put a story in next sprint with a sprint planning meeting yet to happen

Makes Sense! Thanks Manish.
