Wed May 01, 2019 1:53 pm

After decomposing the work package into schedule activities, the effort estimate for the work package is increased by 20% from baseline. What should you do next?

A. Do nothing, since you are following rolling wave planning
B. Raise a Change Request
C. Refer to the Schedule Management Plan for guidance
D. Inform Stakeholders

Which Project Management Process are you in?

Define Activities

Which Tool and Technique are you applying?
Rolling wave planning is an iterative planning technique in which the work to be accomplished in the near term is planned in detail, while work further in the future is planned at a higher level.

So the question is when you discover that you are going to take more time what do you do?
Where would you look for an answer at Input or at the output of this Process?

Our approach is before you look at the output, you need to ensure that you have required information from Inputs.

The output of this process may be Change Request in this case but it depends on the Schedule Management Plan.
This question is related to the variance threshold, which is a part of the Schedule Management Plan.
