Sat Sep 05, 2020 10:05 am

During the design process for a mining plant, the project team conducted a cost-benefit analysis based on current commodity prices. A project manager is reviewing approved change requests made within the past month. The process has been efficient but the implementation is taking longer than originally planned.
What should the project manager do?
A. Return the change requests to the change control board (CCB) for further review.
B. Ask stakeholders to raise only critical changes.
C. Request additional resources.
D. Follow change management procedures to monitor implementation.

The correct answer is D. I have a doubt in this question regarding change management procedures because IMO implementation is not covered under change management rules. Can you please explain?

During project execution, a stakeholder requests a change to ensure that the final product will satisfy their requirements. What should the project manager do next?
A. Reject the request and record it in the product backlog.
B. Approve the request only if it will not have an impact on the budget or schedule.

This is a PMI mock question.

I choose D as the answer but it was incorrect and the explanation given is mentioned below:-
Verifying that the changes are registered, assessed, approved, and tracked and communicating final results to stakeholders is the responsibility of the project manager.

A project to migrate an organization's email system to another platform creates an unexpected, but significant, issue on another business-critical system. What should the project manager do?
A. Revise the project management plan to include the issue.
B. Update the issue log.
C. Inform the stakeholder of the issue.
D. Ask the project team to resolve the issue.

The correct answer is C but I marked B. IMO first, we should update the issue log and then inform the stakeholder based on the criticality of the situation. Please reply.
